    Abstract:

    Cardiovascular disease (CVD) has become one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Although the research on CVD has made some progress, there are still many problems to be further studied. In recent years, the newly discovered pyroptosis is a kind of programmed cell death accompanied by inflammatory reaction. Studies have shown that pyroptosis plays an important role in the occurrence and development of CVD. This article reviews the role and mechanism of pyroptosis in atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, diabetic cardiomyopathy, myocarditis and other CVD.
