    Abstract:

Aim To investigate the effect of angiotension Ⅱ (AngⅡ) on the expression of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) in rat glomerular endothelial cells (GEC) and the related mechanism. Methods Primary GEC were isolated from Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. The synthesis of MCP-1 in rat GEC was determined by Western blot method. RT-PCR method was used to detect the expression of angiotensin Ⅱ type 1 receptor (AT1R)mRNA. Results AngⅡ stimulation increased the synthesis of MCP-1 and promoted the expression of AT1R mRNA in rat GEC. Telmisartan (TEL), an AT1R blocker, blocked the effect of AngⅡ on rat GEC and decreased the expression of MCP-1.Conclusion AngⅡ induces MCP-1 production in rat GEC mediated by the AT1R.
