    Abstract:

Caveolae is special invaginations in the plasma membrane, while caveolin is the marker protein of caveolae, which plays a role in the maintenance of caveolae structure and a variety of cellular processes, including endocytosis, cholesterol balance and signal transduction.Caveolin-1 is rich in many types of cells such as endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, and plays an important role in angiogenesis and proliferation of smooth muscle cells.
