    Abstract:

Aim To investigate the relation between the resistin gene 5'promoter region-420 C>G polymorphism and the age at onset of hypertension. Methods 121 hypertension were selected, including 43 age <40 years,78 age ≥ 40 years and 92 control, including 42 age <40 years,50 age ≥ 40 years, the resistin 420 C/G polymorphism genotype was analyzed by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment polymorphism(PCR-RFLP).Results The frequency of the G/G genotype of resistin single nucleotide polymorphism at-420 in younger hypertension was higher(P=0.006)and related to the age of onset. In young group, the frequency of the G/G genotype in hypertension was higher than control(P=0.001)and related to the onset of hypertension. Conclusion Younger-onset hypertension was related to the G/G genotype of resistin single nucleotide polymorphism at-420.
