Sphingosine-1-phosphate receptors are important targets for sphingosine-1-phosphate to play roles in cells, and five subtypes of sphingosine-1-phosphate receptors are included, which are widely expressed in all systems including cardiovascular system. The receptors have various important biological effects on vasodilatation, vascular endothelial barrier function, ischemia reperfusion injury, atherosclerosis, etc. This paper makes a review on roles and mechanisms of sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 3 in cardiovascular system.
